1. Start with a Quality Travel Toiletry Bag

A quality toiletry bag helps make travelling more organized by keeping your toiletries neatly stored in one place. It helps separate liquids from the rest of your belongings, making it easier to find what you need while reducing the risk of leaks in your suitcase.

With dedicated compartments and a compact design, it helps prevent spills, saves valuable luggage space and makes unpacking at your destination much easier.

2. Add a Travel Toiletry Set

Reusable travel bottles allow you to bring your favourite shampoos, conditioners, body wash and lotions without carrying full-sized products. They help save space and comply with airline liquid restrictions.

3. A Pill Organizer

When I’m packing my toiletry bag, a big consideration is what medication I want to bring with me. I like to be prepared for anything: headaches, stomachaches or even allergies. A pill organizer keeps my medication neatly arranged, easy to access and ensures I can bring everything I need for peace of mind when I travel.

4. A Disposable Razor

Space in my toiletry bag is limited, so packing a disposable razor is essential. I love that they are compact and fit nicely into most travel toiletry bags without taking up too much space. A disposable razor is a convenient item to have on hand for short and long trips.

5. A Travel Toothbrush

A travel toothbrush is one of my essential travel items that I pack for every trip. I know I could pack my regular toothbrush, but what do most of us do before we leave for the airport? We brush our teeth. And there’s nothing worse than having to find a way to quickly dry a wet toothbrush right before you leave the house. Travel toothbrushes are often foldable, which makes them compact, so they will fit easily into most toiletry bags which is another bonus of bringing one with you on your next trip.

6. A Moisturizing Hand and Body Lotion

Frequent hand washing, air travel and changing climates can leave skin feeling dry. I always pack a moisturizing hand and body lotion to keep my skin moisturized throughout my trip. I don’t rely on the lotions the hotel provides. While they smell great, they usually don’t moisturize too well.

7. A Lip Balm

Lip balm helps protect your lips from dryness. It’s a small item that can make a big difference in maintaining comfort throughout your trip. Because the last thing you want to deal with on your vacation is chapped lips!

8. A Travel Laundry Detergent

Travel-sized laundry detergent makes it easy to wash clothing on the go. I know stain pens are popular, but they always seem to leave a very obvious spot on my clothes after I’ve used one. That’s why I skip the pen and just wash the item in the sink for better results.

9. Face Wipes

I always pack face wipes in my carry-on when I’m flying, especially for overnight flights. I usually end up using one mid-flight to remove the day’s make-up and another right before I land to refresh and reset. Facial wipes are also great for quick cleanups when access to soap and water is limited.

10. Dental Floss

Dental floss is not an item many people think to bring on vacation, but picture this, you’re halfway around the world enjoying la dolce vita when suddenly you feel something stuck in your teeth that you just can’t get at, even with a toothbrush. The last thing you want to do is waste precious vacation time looking for a pharmacy that sells dental floss.

11. A Breath Freshener

This is a travel essential for me, especially on overnight flights when it’s not easy to access water to brush my teeth. And yes, I know that every plane has a lavatory where you can access water, but have you ever seen the lineups right before the plane is set to land? Save yourself the trouble and use a breath freshener until you can brush your teeth at your hotel.

12. Sunscreen

Wearing sunscreen is essential virtually anywhere you travel to, as it helps protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Even if you’re not headed to a beach destination, consider the long outdoor lineups at popular historic sites which usually don’t provide any protection from the sun. Whether you’re exploring a city, relaxing on a beach, or spending time outdoors, daily sun protection is important year-round, regardless of your destination.

For your face: This is my go-to sunscreen on my face. It has never irritated my eyes and has never caused me to breakout.

For everywhere else:

13. Elastics and Hair Clips

Hair clips and elastics are versatile accessories that help keep your hair secure and comfortable during travel. They’re especially useful on warm days, during outdoor activities or when you’re constantly on the move. They’re lightweight, easy to pack and can help you create a polished look with minimal effort.

I love these hair elastics because you can wear them all day in different styles and they never leave a ponytail mark in your hair:

14. A Detangling Hairbrush Brush

A detangling hairbrush is designed to gently remove knots without pulling or causing unnecessary breakage. It’s especially useful after long flights, windy sightseeing days or time spent at the beach or pool, helping you keep your hair smooth and manageable throughout your trip.
